TOPIC: An Associated Press/MTV survey found young people are experiencing stress at a high
rate, according to an article by The Associated Press. The survey, which consisted of interviews
with 1,280 people aged 13 to 24, showed more females reported that they experienced stress
than males. Forty five percent of girls and young women stated they experienced stress frequently,
compared to 32 percent of boys and young men. Survey participants aged 13 to 17 cited school
as the main cause of stress, while participants aged 18 to 24 said jobs and financial matters were
the source of their stress.
