TOPIC: A recent survey shows workplace stress is the main reason employees leave their jobs,
according to an article by Bend Weekly. However, many companies often believe workers quit their
jobs due to being dissatisfied with their base pay. The survey, which was conducted by Watson
Wyatt Worldwide, also found 52 percent of the participating companies are struggling to retain
top-performing employees.  Most often, workplace stress is caused by inadequate staffing levels
and poor training. Experts say if employers fail to recognize that workplace stress is an issue, they
may end up paying more in recruiting and training costs for new hires.
